Shooter Sima Kumari was born in an ordinary family in Sudiyabadar village in the Jamui district of Bihar. Her father's name is Late Mr. Sitaram Yadav and her mother's name is Ms. Suman Devi. She has 2 sisters and 3 brothers, of whom Sima Kumari is the eldest.

Sima Kumari had a dream of joining the army and serving the country since childhood. She did her schooling at the Government School in her village.

In 2006, she passed the 10th. After the 10th, due to some reason, the studies stopped. She got married in 2008, and her husband's name is Mr. Hariom Kumar. Sima Kumari's studies resumed after marriage. She did his Intermediate till 2010 and completed her BA in 2013.

Sima Kumari was selected by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) in November 2014. Due to his good performance in shooting in 2015, he got selected for sports shooting. In 2017 Sima Kumari was selected for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) Sport Shooting Team.

Sima Kumari won 26 medals in shooting from 2017 to till date. As part of her career in the indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), she is employed in Sport Shooting in Panchkula, Haryana.
